Rising Phoenix Review is currently looking to expand our staff of editors to better serve our community. All positions are currently on a volunteer basis, including the role of our EIC. If you are interested in joining our team, please send the following: 

1. ) A brief statement of interest discussing a bit about yourself and why you would like to join the staff here at Rising Phoenix Review in the role you are applying for. 

2.) A sample of your poetry, art, photography, interviews, or book reviews depending on your desired position.

Rising Phoenix Reviews editor position are open open to poets and artists of all races, genders, sexual orientations, nationalities, and religions. We deeply encourage submissions from diverse communities. 

Managing Editors:

The Managing Editors works with the Editor in Chief to develop the overall social and artistic mission of Rising Phoenix Review. The Managing Editors also assists with the development of themed issues, micro-chapbook series, and collaborations with other publications. As a Managing Editor, you also have a final say in choosing the content published in issue of Rising Phoenix Review. (Three positions available). 

Photography & Art Editor:

The Photography and Art editor is responsible for choosing the photography and art content that we will publish. As the photography and art editor, you will also have the opportunity to develop calls for submissions, and work with photographers to curate the release of specific themed series. (1 position available). 

Interviews Editor:

As interviews editor, your role is to work with the EIC and Managing Editirs to choose contributors to interview. You will also have the opportunity to solicit interviews from other members of the literary community you believe Rising Phoenix Review should highlight. You will also help to develop a schedule for interview assignments and  (1 position available). 

Interviewer: 

As an interviewer, you will have opportunity to work with our contributors to find out more about their stories. In this position, you will draft questions for contributors, coordinate interviews times with contributors, and submit a transcript of the final interview to the Interviews Editor. (Up to three positions available). 

Reviews Editor:

There is a lot of tremendous literature being generated in the small press community. As Reviews editor, you will have the opportunity to critique that work. In this position, you will field requests for reviews from presses and authors. You will assign reviews assignments to other poetry reviewers. You will also have the opportunity to write reviews for this section. (1 position available). 

Reviewer:

As a reviewer, you will have the opportunity to provide your insights and interpretations of new books from authors and publishers. You will have the opportunity to critique the text of these works and to give your recommendation to our community. You will publish 1-2 reviews per month depending on availability. 

Poetry Reader:

Rising Phoenix Review receives several hundred submissions a year. We need your keen eye to help sift through the submissions we receive. You will play a crucial role in voting on which submissions we publish, suggesting edits, and sending your choices to the EIC and Assistant Editor for final review. (Multiple positions available). 

We use Submittable to accept and review our submissions.
